Suicide Squad committed movie Suicide?

Suicide Squad. The movie that everyone has been waiting for is finally out, but the news is not good. The movie that many comic book fans have waited for has received a lot of critical hate. Rotten Tomatoes has given the movie a staggering 33% which has led to fans of the film to create a petition to shut the site down.

The movie starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne has had some pretty harsh reviews, the worst of which coming from Richard Lawson of Vanity Fair who called it "A shapeless, poorly edited trudge that adds some mildly appalling sexism and even a soupçon of racism to its abundant, hideously timed gun worship."  BuzzFeeds Alison Willmore "couldn't stand it"Her critique of the movie focused on its use of women, suggesting: 'The women can’t control themselves and they’re always dragging down the men around them." She felt that Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn to be the biggest perpetrator, calling her "an embodiment of all the conflicting things this frankly disastrous new movie... is attempting to do" "Harley Quinn is meant to be Suicide Squad’s dark heart. Instead, she’s been made into its damaged dolly jerk-off material," she also wrote.

Yet as of now, the movie sits at a respectable 7.8 stars. Some have stated as a comic book movie, It is typical but as a summer movie it is well worth your time. Another reviewer states that the first 40 minutes are character introduction where he was left uncaring about them with many jokes misplaced and forced. Right now, the public opinion seems a bit split.

What did you think? Were you a fan of the movie or did you leave feeling suicidal? (See what we did there?) Have your say in the comments below!
